Web Consulting
Your staff must invest time in relaying your products and/or services to the designer or the site will fail. No one knows your business like you do.
A consultant can save you a great deal of time and money and can help avoid costly redesign and marketing errors. Sites overloaded with graphics may load too slowly. Sites with too little graphics may look bland or may not navigate as well. Twenty-five percent of a designer's time is spent accommodating browsers and the many browser versions. A site designed with one browser in mind, e.g., Explorer, may work poorly in Netscape.
Even if you plan to design your own site, you should contract with a designer to review your design drafts and your search engine strategy.
Should You Have A Web Site?
A question we often hear is, "should we have a web site?" The answer is "do you want business?" These two questions will correlate in 1998 through 2003. Better yet, ask 39-year-old Lewis Rose, whose Washington-based law firm Arent Fox added 30 new clients and about $300,000 in revenue in 16 months with little marketing expense. (Note: Lewis Rose has since joined Collier Shannon Scott.) A few years ago, Nashville attorney Gregory Siskind had a small firm and a big dream of practicing immigration law. Today, his immigration law firm, Siskind, Susser, Haas & Chang, has 16 lawyers with offices in eight states. About two-thirds of the firm's business reportedly comes through the Internet -- either from its Web site or from its free monthly newsletter, distributed electronically to more than 10,000 subscribers.
Recent estimates of Web users worldwide puts the number at 40 million and growing fast. By the end of 2002, Jupiter Communications projected that 55 percent of US households and 32 percent of European households will be online. The Web is truly becoming a mass medium and household staple. A Raleigh News & Observer article "Tumbling PC Prices a drag to Intel" (Associated Press), page 6D, stated that "Because of the sharp drop in PC prices, nearly one out of every two U.S. families are expected to own a desktop machine by year end." It has been projected that, by the turn of the century, there will be over half a billion users of the World Wide Web. See The Internet Society's web page for detailed Internet statistics.
Technology clients use the Internet now to find their servicing agencies. Companies are finding that it is quicker and less expensive to place information on the Internet than it is to publish or purchase catalogs of information. Additionally, they can find information from the desktop Internet computer more quickly than by retrieving publications, not to mention storage space saved. A USA Today article reported that "company executives are going high tech, relying on the Internet as an integral part of their business day." Another section of the article said that "a survey by the American Management Association found 53% of executives and managers spent up to four hours weekly on the Internet, with 25% expecting their use to jump to 10 hours or more per week within two years." Among their uses was E-mail, checking out the competition, and keeping up with personal tasks. "They use E-mail to reach customers, clients and employees," the article continued.
How is Consultwebs Different?
How is Consultwebs.com's different? Our background is business and organizational consulting. Our president is one of three endorsed North Carolina Bar Association consultants and has worked with numerous U.S. businesses and organizations. Our staff has impressive business and Web design credentials. We will work to understand your business or organization. We will apply our knowledge and experience and work with you to design a site that meets your needs and serves your customers.
Our sites are professional, but affordable. We have designed sites for far more, but our typical price range for consultation, graphics, design, and training is $1,500 - $10,000. This price is considerably less than advertising options that often achieve less results. We also consulted on the feasibility and ROI potential for Intranet and Extranets.
Many Web designers retain control of your web pages and charge high rates for maintenance and updates. Their options include template designs that result in sites looking very much alike. Others have the web designer's logo displayed throughout the page, diluting your message. We are not a production line, template or Yellow-Page¨ oriented designer. While we offer economy business and law firm template sites, custom sites and power legal "kit" sites with area of practice domain names, our primary business is providing custom sites for individual needs.

Consultwebs has several Internet design memberships, certifications and honors. Our president, Dale Tincher, for example, was one of two judges who chose the 2001 Large Firm Legal Web Site Of The Year for Law Office Computing. We are large and experienced enough to design your page in a professional manner, but not so large that you will become lost in the shuffle and be required to pay premium fees for enhancements. Our NetSmart, Inc., endorsement by the North Carolina Bar Association as a TAP consultant further insures that attorneys will receive priority attention and competitive pricing. Our track record and reference list make a statement about our overall client philosophy. Our clients will confirm that we are responsive and that their sites are successful.
We do not simply provide a design and walk away. We provide search engine optimization, registration and marketing assistance. We continue to work with you to make your site successful. |
